As a New Zealand born and bred company, our aim is to improve cyclist’s safety by working with local clubs, cyclist organisations, local councils, schools. etc.  Below are some examples of the work we do.

One in Ten Schools Road Safety Programme

Starting from January 2020, for every ten Safelite panels sold we will donate one to a New Zealand school or PTA.  They’ll be able to use this for fundraising, raffles, auctions or whatever they need.  Our aim is to eventually give a Safelite panel to every school in New Zealand, and ensure families are aware of the risks involved with carrying bikes on the back of cars.  You can register for a free panel for your school or PTA at:

Cyclist Road Safety Education

In our research, we found that most people who carry bikes on the backs of cars don’t know they are breaking the law and putting their families in danger.  We offer free educational leaflets to schools and bike clubs and regularly attend cycling events to get the safety message out there.

This could be support for your events or sponsorship. Flick us an email at and let us know how we can help.

“Educate not Prosecute” initiative

Currently we are seeking to work with NZ Police on and “Educate not Prosecute” initiative.  Given our research shows that that most Kiwis genuinely don’t know the laws on carrying bikes we are recommending that cautions could be given, together with a road safety flyer on how to “Be Seen … Be Safe… Be Legal” when carrying bikes.

Be seen, be safe and be legal when carrying bikes
